Eric Vermillion

Eric Loyd Vermillion, aged 56, passed away on July 26, 2023, leaving behind cherished memories in the hearts of all who knew him. He was born in Mountain View, Missouri, on April 26, 1967, and Eric lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a passion for family, nature, and good food. Eric's greatest pride and joy were his three children, Zach (Britany), Elizabeth (Anthony), and Erica (Damon) Vermillion. He was a loving father, always there to support and encourage them in every aspect of their lives. His love extended beyond his children to his grandchildren, Chasidy, Lakelynn, Leanna, Thorn, Briar, Aria, Adiya, Anthony, and Elliana. Eric cherished the time spent with his grandchildren. Family meant everything to Eric, and he shared a close bond with his two sisters, Marlene Self Abbey and Loretta Weible. Through the ups and downs of life, they remained a source of unwavering support and comfort to one another. Eric deeply valued the memories created with his siblings and treasured the times they shared. Eric's love for animals was undeniable, and none held a more special place in his heart than his loyal and faithful companion, his dog Pocko. Pocko was more than just a pet; he was Eric's best friend and a constant source of companionship throughout his life.

Eric was an avid outdoorsman, finding solace in the beauty of nature. He loved spending time in the great outdoors, hunting and fishing, where he felt at one with the world around him. Eric had an appreciation for the simple joys in life. In addition to his love for the outdoors and cooking, Eric was known for his kind and generous nature. He had a warm heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His sense of humor and infectious laughter brought joy to countless gatherings and endeared him to a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. Eric's passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew him, but his memory will live on through the love he shared and the memories he created. He is reunited with his beloved mother and father, Ruby and Elgin Vermillion, and his brothers, Ronald (Pooge) and Rex Vermillion, in the eternal embrace of heaven. As we bid farewell to Eric Loyd Vermillion, we honor his legacy by cherishing the memories he gave us and holding his spirit in our hearts forever. Funeral services were at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Yarber Mortuary, Winona, Missouri, with Pastor Jeff Brake officiating.
