Donald Chitwood

Donald G. Chitwood passed away on April 23, 2023, at Cox South Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. He was born on August 29, 1938, near Blair’s Creek, Missouri. Preceeding him in death were his parents , Jack and Lucille Chitwood. Don is survived by his two children, Ron Chitwood of Birch Tree, Missouri and Susan Marler of Winona, Missouri. One granddaughter Tonya Rosa of Winona, two brothers; John Chitwood (Jan) of Birch Tree, Missouri; Gerald Chitwood (Virgina) of Birch Tree, Misoouri. Three sisters; Verna Smith of Salem, Missouri; Dolly Smith of Springfield, Missouri; Norene McBride of West Plains, Missouri. Two nephews and and eight nieces. Don was a beloved father of two and a cherished friend to everyone who knew him. Don’s greatest joy was spending time with his kids, he cared deeply for them and everyone he came across. He was a hard worker, who took everything to heart, he would give you the shirt off his back and only wanted a kind word in return. Don will be missed very much and never forgotten.
