n loving memory of Carolyn Sue (Dixon) Jakeman Carolyn was a beloved mom, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She passed on May 5, 2023. Carolyn was born to Charley O. and Thelma May (Counts) Dixon on December 19, 1951, in Eminence, Missouri. She had seven brothers: Dwain, Eugene, Darrell, Franklin, Edward, Garry, and Larry Dixon. Those proceeding her in death were her dad and mother, Charley and Thelma; brothers, Dwain, Darrell, Edward, and Garry; maternal grandfather and grandmother, James C. and Margaret Emmaline (Nash) Counts; paternal grandfather and grandmother, William Alford and Rosa F. (Newton) Dixon. Carolyn previously worked at Martiz in Fenton, Missouri, following graduation from Eminence High School in 1970. She returned to Eminence after marrying Darr Cooper and gave birth to Byran Scott Cooper in 1972. Carolyn worked at the Current Wave for several years. Carolyn married Philip Jakeman in 1977 and gave birth to Ricky Charles Jakeman the following year. She retired from the Eminence Security Bank after 18 years of service. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Phil; two sons, Scott and Rick; three grandchildren, Faith, Blaine, and Hadley; and her brothers, Eugene, Franklin, and Larry. Carolyn enjoyed the out- doors, especially fishing and traveling. She once reeled in a 10-foot King Mackerel (as Carolyn told the story...) while visiting Florida. Carolyn will be remembered by her many friends and family members. Visitation was held from 1- 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Yarber Mortuary, Eminence, Missouri. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Burial was in Bethany Chapel Cemetery, Eminence, Missouri.
