Myrtle (Martin) Petty

Myrtle Faye (Martin) Petty was born to Charles and Pearl (Holloway) Martin, on December 23, 1941, in Winona, Missouri. She passed away at her home in Winona, on March 17, 2023, at the age of 81. On December 26, 1958, she married Wilfred Eugene "Gene" Petty, and to this union, three children were born, Alan, Phyllis, and Robert. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Pearl Martin; her husband, Gene Petty; her daughter, Phyllis Ann (Petty) Shuler and son-in-law, Timothy; three sisters, Bessie McMillion, Melva Mitchell, and Katie Knight; and three brothers, Gary Martin, Bud Martin, and Sam Martin. Myrtle leaves to mourn her two sons, Alan Petty and wife, Stephanie of Maysville, MO, and Robert Petty and wife, Anita of Cameron, MO; three sisters, Nellie Worth of St. Louis, MO, Susie Elliot of Brandon, OR, and Brenda 3/19/2023 I can’t imagine God not fulfilling all his promises to me. He has shown me time after time that I can trust him, he is faithful. - When we put our trust in God he is going to see us through. Be patient, God is using today's difficulties to strengthen you for tomorrow. I want to tank everyone who came out and support- ed the bake sale for Charlotte Allmon, God has so blessed our community with good, caring people. When a family is in need, people step-up and show their kindness, God knows our heart, I want to think my friends from Van Buren and Eminence that came to sup- Harris and husband, Bill of Ellsinore, MO; three brothers, Gerald Martin and wife, Wanda, Ronnie Martin and wife Fernice, and John Martin all of Winona, MO; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great- great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Yarber Mortuary, Winona, Missouri, with Pastor Archie Taylor officiating. Visitation was held prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment was in Pine Lawn Cemetery, Winona. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
