Carolyn “Sue” Middleton (Hines)

Carolyn “Sue” Middleton (Hines), age 85, of Roscoe, IL passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Florida Friday, September 23rd, 2022. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Sue was born on September 28th, 1936, to John and Louise Hines in Eminence, MO. After graduating from Eminence High School, Sue courageously left Missouri to start a new life in Rockford, IL where she met her late husband, Lee Middleton. Sue loved spending time with her family. Our fondest memories are gathering around the dinner table and listening to her share stories of her younger years. She spent her early years working at the Rockford Park District and spent most of her life caring for her loved ones. Her cheerful attitude and bright smile will be missed, but her loving heart left a beacon of light for all in the community. Sue was predeceased by her husband, parents, and sister Jonabeth Crider. She is survived by her daughter Susan and son Bruce (Cathy), two granddaughters Kayla and Mariah (Kasey), brother-in-law Junior Crider, sister-in-law Lil (Mike) Barney, and several nieces and nephews. As per her wishes, there will be a private service at a later date.
