Effie Darlene Shoup

Effie Darlene Shoup, age 68, passed away on April 11, 2022 at her home in Birch Tree , Missouri. She was born to Luther and Oma "Mae" (Parks) Fears on February 21, 1954, in Eminence, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Simon Peter Shoup on April 20, 1974, in Times Beach, Missouri. To this union, three sons were born, Simon, Stephen, and Scott. Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Simon Shoup; her parents, Luther and Mae Fears; and three brothers, Otto Underwood, Lonnie Parks, and Johnny Fears. Survivors include her three sons, Simon (Ruth), Stephen (Misty), and Scott (Misty) Shoup; one sister, Pat Rutledge; eleven grandchildren, Simon Peter Shoup, IV, Sylvia Spencer, Stephen Lee Shoup, Cyann Shoup, Ethan, Taya, Michael Shoup, Leandra Shoup, Devon Shoup, Kinsey Shoup, and Lydia Shoup; four great-grandchildren, Avery, Bellamy, Auburiella, and Kason; and a host of nieces and nephews. Darlene had several jobs over her lifetime, but she enjoyed teaching, nursing, and being a med-tech and dietitian. She loved her family, sons, grandchildren, and her dog, Captain. She was a loving mom, good friend, and person. Anyone that knew her loved her, and she will be deeply missed. Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2022, at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain Vi e w, Missouri, with Pastor Jeff Brake officiating. Visitation was held prior to the service from 2-3:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Interment was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Teresita, Missouri.
