Darren LeRoy Walker
October 09, 2025

Darren LeRoy Walker was born at Mountain View, Missouri on June 30, 1966, to Hubert and Carol (Dixon) Walker. He was so proud to be his dad’s birthday gift, being born just one day before his birthday.
He attended schools in Winona and Van Buren, Missouri, and Hanna, Wyoming before moving to the St Louis area with his dad and going to work with him. After moving back to Winona, he met the love of his life, Lori Weible. They were devoted parents to Aaron Ryan Walker of Eminence, Missouri and Brennon Jacob Walker of Winona, Missouri.
Darren was very talented. He was a brick layer, a heavy equipment operator, a mechanic, and ran a cherry picker for Frost Sawmill for 14 years.
He left us on Saturday, September 27, 2025. He had been helping his cousin paint an old jalopy as a surprise for his dad. They had spent several days together, during which time his boys and other friends came and went. It was a time of many stories and much laughter. He had sat down to rest and peacefully went from this earth to his heavenly home.
Preceding him in death were his beloved, Lori, and her mother, Loretta Weible; his father, Hubert Leroy Walker; his stepmother, Judy Walker; his brother, Jeffrey L. Dixon; maternal grandparents, Esco and Wilma Dixon: and paternal grandparents, Cleo and Hazel Walker.
Surviving are his mother, Carol (Dixon) Walker and his stepfather, Ted Junkins of Fremont, MO;Lori’s father, Richard Weible, and her siblings, Darren Vermillion and Kristy Meek; sisters Teresa McCarrel and her husband, Mike, of Cheyenne, W Y and Anita Fox of Winona, MO; sons, Aaron Walker and his love, Santannah Smith and Brennon Walker and his son, Greyson Reid Walker; and other family members including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind more friends than can be counted. He was always willing to step in to help when asked or needed and he’ll be sorely missed.
I Corinthians 12:28 speaks of the gift of “helps”. This is truly a gift that Darren possessed. He had a quick smile, a warm hug, and a kind and loving spirit. He adored his sons. They have grown into remarkable young men whose love for him, their mother, and for each other is very obvious. Please remember them in your prayers!
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2025, at Yarber Mortuary, Winona, Missouri with Rocky Dailey officiating. Visitation was held Thursday evening, October 2, from 6-8:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Interment was in Horner Cemetery, Winona, Missouri. Condolences may be expressed at www yarbermortuary.com
