Patsie Ruth Chaney

Patsie Ruth Chaney, 89, was born on June 9, 1934, in Mountain View, Missouri, to Elvert Alton and Josephine (Davidson) Wright. Patsie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and passed from this life on December 9, 2023, in West Plains, Missouri. Patsie was united in mar- riage on June 8, 1953, to Melvin Chaney in Birch Tree, Missouri. She was a devoted mother who enjoyed caring for her family and providing a warm and loving home. Patsie enjoyed sewing and was a gifted seamstress, mak- ing clothes for her family and commissioned garments for neighbors. Later in life, Patsie honed her management skills. She retired as Human Resource Manager at KPMG in Dallas, Texas, to spend time traveling with her husband. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Josephine Wright; her siblings, Maggie Crank, Eugene Wright, Geneva Jackson, Equilla Wright, and Paul Wright. Survivors include her hus- band, Melvin Chaney; daugh- ters, Keri (Michael) Mills of Wayne County, TN, and Lesa (David) Covert of Roatan, Honduras; her son, Stewart (Nadya) Chaney of West Plains, MO; and one grandson, Carl Chaney of West Plains. Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri, with John and Barb Atchison offici- ating. Visitation was held prior to the service from 1-3:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Birch Tree, Missouri.
