Winifred “Fred” Powell

Winifred Wayland Powell passed away at his home on November 26, 2023 at the age of 83. Mr. Powell was born in Eminence, MO in 1940. He graduated with a B. S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1965. He worked for the Army Corps of Engineers for many years with his final post being with the Mississippi River Commission in Vicksburg, MS. He is proceeded in death by his daughter, Susan Arlene Powell, and his par- ents Wayland L Powell and Alice Alta Lee Powell. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Stephanie; his two daughters Sharon Vorisek of Warner Robins, GA and Linda Powell of Vicksburg, MS; his three brothers: Elmer Powell (Carol), Walter Powell, and John K. Powell plus grand- children, nieces, and nephews. Mr. Powell was laid to rest at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg, MS on Dec 4, 2023
